On Food

I am not a gourmet, an epicure, or a foodie. If I were to admit to any gastronomic affiliation, I'd say I'm a chowhound. Once a year, usually in October, Lin and I spend a long weekend in New York with friends, primarily to explore restaurants. (At least that's my perspective.) Sometimes (1996, 1999, 2002) I take the trouble to record notes on these trips.

Occasionally, we visit some other city (Chicago or New Orleans, so far) for the same purpose, as described in Bevier's trip reports.

In the Fall of 2000, we spent a week in Lyon and Paris.

Here is a report on the Awesome Green Bean Festival, an annual event sponsored by my Thursday night drinking group.

Another project, on which I've been meaning to report, is the Block Island Invitational Bass Tournament.

I like to eat and feed my friends. Here are a few of my favorite recipes.
